About the Equipment
Equipment for checking the mechanical strength of rails and welded joints
The rail testing press is equipment intended for checking the mechanical strength of rails and of joints made by Flash-Butt Welding. The system is used in testing laboratories, production units and quality control centres to assess the conformity of welds and their behaviour under mechanical loads.
Built for industrial applications, the press allows bending tests and other mechanical tests required to verify the performance of rails and welded joints to be carried out, in accordance with the requirements of the applicable standards.
Quality control for railway infrastructure
Checking the strength of a weld is one of the most important stages of the quality control process.
The press applies controlled forces to the rail or to the welded area, making it possible to determine the behaviour of the material under conditions similar to those encountered in service. The test parameters are monitored and recorded for each test carried out, providing reproducible results and full traceability.
