About the Equipment

Automatic Flash-Butt welding system for maintenance and modernization works on railway infrastructure.

FLASH 600 is a professional machine for the electric welding of rails using the Flash-Butt Welding (FBW) process, designed to create permanent joints between railway and tram rails.

Designed and manufactured in Romania, the system develops a maximum upsetting force of 600 kN, providing a fully automated process, monitoring of the welding parameters and consistent results for construction, rehabilitation and maintenance projects on railway infrastructure.

The equipment can be integrated into mobile units, technical containers or railway platforms, being an efficient solution for interventions carried out directly on site.

Automatic welding for railway infrastructure


FLASH 600 uses the flash butt welding process (Flash-Butt Welding), one of the most efficient technologies for creating jointless track.

During the process, the rail ends are precisely aligned and clamped, heated by passing an electric current through them and then pressed under control until a homogeneous joint is obtained.

All stages are controlled automatically by the electronic control system, which continuously monitors the voltage, welding current, displacement and applied force.

FLASH 1000 uses Flash-Butt Welding technology to create uniform, strong and repeatable joints between two rail segments.

During the process, the rail ends are clamped and aligned, then heated by the controlled passing of an electric current. Once the programmed parameters are reached, the rails are pressed towards each other with a force of up to 1,000 kN.

The process is managed automatically by dedicated software, which controls and records the voltage, welding current, displacement and applied force. The operator can follow the entire cycle from the control panel mounted on the equipment.

Rugged construction for intensive use


FLASH 600 is built for operation in difficult site conditions and for rapid interventions on railway infrastructure.

The welding head has a rigid construction, with a high-precision hydraulic system and clamping mechanisms that ensure perfect alignment of the rails throughout the welding process.


Full process control


The control software automatically manages the entire welding cycle and allows programs for different rail types to be saved.
For each joint, the following are monitored and recorded:

  • welding voltage;
  • electric current;
  • rail displacement;
  • upsetting force;
  • the evolution of the parameters throughout the cycle.


The data can be used for quality verification and traceability of the works carried out.
